Israel Adesanya was once one of the top pound-for-pound fighters in all of MMA and an untouchable force in the UFC’s middleweight division, however, he now finds himself on a three-fight losing streak and doesn’t have a clear direction to go in the 185lb division.
Not only is ‘The Last Stylebender’ on a three-fight losing streak, in those three fights, he has been brutally knocked out, submitted and completely outclassed for 25 minutes, and for a fighter who was once almost impossible to hit, it seems likely that his best days are behind him.
Adesanya last fought in early February, where he was knocked out by Nassourdine Imavov, and since then, he hasn’t really given an update on what his future is in the UFC. While the former two-time UFC middleweight champion remains quiet about his future, his coach, Eugene Bareman, has given an update on whether or not his fighter will compete again in a newly released interview with Combat TV.

Israel Adesanya’s Coach Unsure of his Future in UFC
Adesanya is on a three-fight losing streak and has dropped to #4 in the middleweight rankings
A fresh update from Israel Adesanya’s coach suggests we may have seen the last of ‘The Last Stylebender’ inside the UFC Octagon. Adesanya’s long-time head coach, Eugene Bareman, recently spoke to Combat TV and was quizzed on the former two-time UFC middleweight champion’s future in the UFC, and while he didn’t confirm whether his fighter will fight again, there is definitely uncertainty around his future in combat sports.
Bareman said the following to Combat TV:
“Izzy is being Izzy. I don’t know what he’s doing next, but that’s a good place to be. Yeah, he’s just doing him. I don’t know.”
“If he was going to fight again, then he’s going to fight again. If he’s not, then we’ve been blessed, I’ve been blessed, the world’s been blessed, the team’s been blessed. But yeah, it’s completely up to him.”
Adesanya was once one of the best fighters in all of MMA, but hasn’t won a fight in over two years and is currently on a three-fight losing streak. The first two of Adesanya’s three-fight losing streak were tough losses to take, but he didn’t take a lot of damage. but in his most recent fight in February against Nassourdine Imavov, he was brutally knocked out.
If Adesanya’s days inside the UFC Octagon are over, it will be a shame, but his legacy is already set in stone, and he is, to many, the greatest fighter in the history of the UFC’s middleweight division and has a resume which will be difficult to match by any champion who follows him.
