The wife of Barcelona star İlkay Gündoğan has on Tuesday dropped a hint that the German’s departure from the club is indeed imminent.
This, of course, comes amid widespread reports that the midfielder is locked in negotiations with Premier League champions Manchester City, over a return to The Etihad.
The Barcelona brass, it is understood, recently informed Gündoğan that his services are no longer required by the club.
This comes amid ongoing efforts to create space on the bloated Camp Nou wage bill.
And, as alluded to above, on Tuesday evening, a hint that Gündo’s Barcelona exit is now closer than ever has surfaced on social media.
The hint comes courtesy of none other than the 33-year-old’s wife, Sara, who, as noted by eagle-eyed Blaugrana supporters, has unfollowed Barcelona’s official account on her Instagram platform.
A minor development in the grand scheme of things, but one which would certainly suggest that Gündoğan will be on the move sooner rather than later…
