Celta Vigo have announced that Iago Aspas has renewed his contract with the Galician outfit until 2025.
The timing of the announcement coincides perfectly with the National Day of Galicia, which is celebrated on the 25th of July every year.
The new contract will mean that the Celta veteran will continue to play for the club for the next three seasons.
Coming through the Celta Vigo youth system, the 34-year-old has scored 184 goals in 418 games for the team, making him the top scorer in the club’s history.
While Aspas has become a legend in his own province, he struggled to find his feet in the Premier League. He only managed to score 1 goal in 15 games during his brief stint playing for Liverpool.
Os Celestes are continuing to look for players to strengthen their front line. Last week it was reported that they are in talks with Roma to bring Carles Pérez to Vigo.
