An insight into the expected absence awaiting Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé has on Thursday come to the fore online.
This, of course, comes after confirmation was forthcoming that the summer arrival in Spain’s capital has suffered an injury setback.
Mbappé, for his part, featured from the off on Tuesday night, as Real Madrid made the trip to Italy for a Champions League meeting with Atalanta.
After opening the scoring in an eventual 3-2 victory for his side, however, the Frenchman was hauled off during the first-half, with a fitness concern.
Mbappé was subsequently put through a round of medical tests earlier today, to ascertain the extent of the damage done.
And, as per a statement across Los Blancos’ website and social media platforms, as much revealed the following:
‘Kylian Mbappé has been diagnosed with a thigh injury in his left leg.’
So, just how long is the under-fire frontman likely to be unavailable for selection to Carlo Ancelotti and his staff?
As per an ensuing report on the part of Real Madrid insider Arancha Rodríguez of COPE, Mbappé is in line for a spell of ‘approximately 10 days’ on the sidelines.
As much would mean the 25-year-old missing out against Rayo Vallecano this weekend, almost certain to sit out the Intercontinental Cup finale in Doha next week, too.
