Georges St-Pierre shared incredible advice for Jake Paul just days before the creator-turned-boxer returns to the ring for the 13th fight os his pro boxing career.
One of the consensus GOATs in MMA, GSP dominated the sport for more than a decade and ran a gauntlet that included some of the biggest names in the sport at the time, including BJ Penn, Matt Hughes, Thiago Alves, Nick Diaz, and Michael Bisping, as he won titles across two weight classes — welterweight and middleweight.
When speaking to Logan Paul during a recent episode of the latter’s ‘Impaulsive’ podcast, the host talked to St-Pierre about his brother, Jake Paul, and an issue in the sport that had been bugging him for a while. GSP then compared that to an event in his own career, and how he overcame it, providing an invaluable lesson for Paul should he take heed of it ahead of his fight against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr on Saturday, the 28th of June.

Georges St-Pierre Shares Incredible Advice For Jake Paul in Boxing
It could be a ‘big mistake’ if Paul doesn’t listen to GSP
During the episode, which aired this week, Logan Paul — a surging performer in WWE — talked to St-Pierre about his brother. Jake Paul returns this weekend to fight Chavez Jr in a strong offering from Most Valuable Promotions who co-promote the event alongside Golden Boy Promotions from Anaheim in Southern California. The event airs on DAZN.
“My brother has an 11-1 boxing record,” Logan told St-Pierre. “The one [loss] came from a guy by the name of Tommy Fury.”
St-Pierre said he “watched that fight.” To which Logan continued: “Jake [is] obviously [a] super-hungry kid [and] wants to avenge that loss, but Tommy won’t take that fight.”
St-Pierre then told Logan how he experienced something similar in his UFC career, shared advice Jake could use in boxing, and warned that if he didn’t listen to it, then it could be “a big mistake.”
GSP said: “When I lost to Matt Serra, I was obsessed with revenge. So one of the sports psychologists — he made me take a brick and wrote the name “Serra” on it. So he made me carry a freakin’ brick in my training bag, until the point [that] I couldn’t take it anymore. He made me go to the St. Lawrence river [which traverses Ontario and Quebec], and he made me throw the brick [into the river]. When I did this, it kind of releases me.”
“My point is, it’s awful, and it must stink like f****** crazy. But you need to focus on the next task because that could be a big mistake.”
St-Pierre’s loss to Serra was the first and only time he’d ever been defeated by knockout. Their first fight took place in Texas back in 2007. However, he did eventually get his revenge as he fought Serra a second time just one year later and beat him by TKO with knees to the body to re-claim his UFC welterweight championship.
