Center-back Marco Friedl is off to a sensational start for a surging Werder Bremen side this season. However, he’ll now have to miss their next two games after receiving a red card when he pulled down Freiburg’s Michael Gregoritsch over the weekend.
If Vincenzo Grifo had scored the free-kick from the resulting foul in the first half, Friedl would have only been suspended one game for his actions.
He’ll now miss out against Hertha and Schalke, before returning against Bayern on November 8th.
