Freiburg look to have won the race to sign St. Pauli’s Kyereh

Bild reports that FC St. Pauli star Daniel-Kofi Kyereh has turned down the likes of Mainz, Stuttgart and Werder Bremen to join Freiburg.

SC Freiburg appear to be closing in on the signing of FC St. Pauli attacker Daniel-Kofi Kyereh.

According to Kicker, Freiburg have agreed personal terms with the 26-year-old, with negotiations now underway between the two clubs.

St. Pauli are said to be demanding around €4.5 million for Kyereh, who has also been linked with Mainz, Stuttgart and Werder Bremen.

Werder, however, have conceded that the player will not be moving to the Weserstadion.

“We good talks and a really good exchange. I don’t think the decision was that easy for him either. In the end, he decided to go another way, which is really a shame. But sometimes that’s just the way it is in football,” Werder head of first team football and scouting Clemens Fritz Fritz told reporters on Sunday.

Kyereh scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists in 32 games through the 2021/22 season.
