Former Barcelona team-mates Luis Suárez and Lionel Messi could reunite at Inter Miami

Lionel Messi has just been officially presented as an Inter Miami player, and Sergio Busquets has been announced at the club as well.

It now appears that Luis Suárez – another iconic Barcelona player – could be set to join the American side, Relevo are reporting.

The Uruguayan is currently negotiating his departure from Gremio, where his contract is due to end at end at the close of 2024.

Inter Miami have been planning to bring the two stars (Messi and Suárez) together since before the birth of the club. In 2020, they experienced a traumatic separation, when Suárez’s farewell was the trigger for Messi to also say that he wanted to leave Barça.

With the addition of Busquets, and probably Jordi Alba, there could be a reunion of four friends and European champions from 2015.

Tata Martino will be on the bench at Inter Miami, the man who managed them at Barça in 2013-14.

Suárez publicly stated a month ago that he wouldn’t leave Gremio. “It’s false, it’s impossible, I’m very happy in Gremio and I have a contract until 2024,” he told Uruguayan media. However, that could be about to change.
