Five European clubs eyeing move for Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi after Liverpool move collapsed

Five European clubs are reportedly eyeing a move for Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi after his £35 million deadline day move to Liverpool collapsed.

According to The Mirror, Bayern Munich are the latest side to join the transfer race for the 25-year-old.

La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona are also keeping tabs on the Palace captain who will be an attractive proposition as a free agent next year.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan and Juventus also have an interest in Guehi and could make a move for him.

The England international was on the brink of joining Liverpool on deadline day, as he agreed personal terms and the Reds’ bid was accepted.

He was even undergoing a medical, but Palace pulled the plug on the deal at the last minute after failing to sign a replacement.

The Eagles were set to bring in Igor Julio on a season-long loan from Brighton & Hove Albion, but the Brazilian ended up joining West Ham United instead.

Manager Oliver Glasner was unwilling to let Guehi leave without bringing in a replacement, and hence he was forced to stay at Selhurst Park.

However, with a year left on his current contract, the highly rated-defender will likely leave the South London club next summer.

Guehi will not be short of suitors as some of the biggest European clubs are set to battle for his signature next summer.

Foreign clubs will have an advantage as they can talk to the centre-back from January 1 and get a pre-contract agreement.
