After breaking through for 1. FC Köln this season, Said El Mala has been linked with a number of top clubs.
In connection with Eintracht Frankfurt’s 4-3 win over Köln on Saturday, coach Dino Toppmöller confirmed that his side is among the 19-year-old’s suitors.
“Of course, a player like him is on our radar and in our sights,” Toppmöller told Sky.
He added with a wink that it’s “probably too late now” to approach the youngster, indicating that Eintracht are far from alone in their interest.
“Every good scout in Germany knows this boy, and it’s the same with us.
“In the end, it always comes down to what can be achieved and what cannot. For that, I’m the wrong person to ask,” he said.
El Mala came off the bench and provided an assist in Köln’s defeat to Frankfurt.
