Fortuna have been steadily adding to their squad as they go in search of promotion from the 2.Bundesliga.
Fortuna Düsseldorf has confirmed the signing of Anouar El Azzouzi who arrives from Dutch club PEC Zwolle.
The Rhineland club has not disclosed the transfer fee or publicized the terms of the contract for the 24-year-old.
El Azzouzi, who made over 33 appearances for the Eredivisie club last season, becomes the Rhinelanders’ fifth incoming summer transfer.
Sporting director Klaus Allofs has high hopes for the new signing: “We have been closely monitoring Anouar El Azzouzi for a long time.
“He meets many of the criteria we are looking for in the central defensive midfield position.
“Anouar is also extremely ambitious and focused and will be an upgrade for our game,” said Allofs.
