Borussia Dortmund have offered teenage striker Youssoufa Moukoko a new contract until 2026, according to Sky Germany.
However, Moukoko is stalling on a contract extension, as he wants to see how his playing time develops.
The 17-year-old started Borussia Dortmund’s first Bundesliga game of the season against Bayer Leverkusen in the absence of Sebastien Haller, who will be out for several months due to testicular cancer.
Moukoko is now set to face fresh competition from Anthony Modeste, who has been brought in from FC Köln, but the fact that the 34-year-old has only been given a one-year deal can be seen as a sign that the club do not want to put another striker in front of Moukoko in the long term.
The youngster’s current contract expires at the end of the season.
