Jose Mourinho has been sacked by Roma with immediate effect and Daniele de Rossi is currently leading the race to replace the Portuguese.
Mourinho has left the club and Roma will soon announce a replacement. Marco Conterio has reported that the decisive meeting between Mourinho and the club’s owners took place today and CEO Lina Souloukou informed the former manager about the club’s decision.
Now Dan and Ryan Friedkin, assisted by Charles Gould and with the support of Souloukou, will have to decide which path to follow for the replacement. As of now, Daniele de Rossi is the leading candidate. The idea is that an interim manager will be hired before a permanent boss is hired in the summer. De Rossi could be that option for the interim role.
Roma are currently ninth in the league and have had the worst start to the season since the 2002/03 campaign and are already out of the Coppa Italia.
