Crystal Palace have joined the race to sign a Manchester City star this summer.
The Eagles, after a successful season in which they beat Pep Guardiola’s side in the FA Cup final, are looking for new players to add creativity and depth to their squad.
With Eberechi Eze linked with a move away from the club all summer, perhaps manager Oliver Glasner has one eye on creative additions to his team.
According to Sky Sports, Crystal Palace have joined the race to sign Man City star James McAtee this summer.
James McAtee wants to leave Man City
The 22-year-old is looking to leave Man City this summer where opportunities have been limited for him under Guardiola.
After making only 15 Premier League appearances last season, McAtee has made up his mind to move away from the Etihad Stadium and join a club where there is more opportunity to show his talent.
In those 15 Premier League appearances, only three were from the start, showing Guardiola has shown little faith in the youngster.
Along with Palace, Everton are also interested in a move for the versatile Man City star.
Sky Sports claim that Man City may set their asking price for McAtee at around £40 million, using the fee Chelsea paid for Cole Palmer as a benchmark.
The reasoning behind this valuation is that McAtee, a product of the City Football Academy, has already made more senior appearances for Guardiola’s side than Palmer did before his move to Stamford Bridge.
Crystal Palace face competition to sign McAtee

The 22-year-old midfielder is attracting significant interest this summer, with Bayer Leverkusen also keen to secure his signature.
It is hardly surprising to see the player consider a move away from the club since he is way down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium and in order to continue his development at the highest level, a move to Palace, where Glasner has been brilliant with young players, could be the right move for McAtee’s career.
