Chelsea have submitted a fresh bid worth up to €15 million for AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues’ opening offer was turned down by the Serie A side, who reportedly value the 29-year-old at €30m.
This is despite the fact that Maignan has only a year left on his current contract at the San Siro.
Chelsea are not willing to meet their high valuation and have reportedly made their final offer for the Frenchman.
Maignan has been a regular for Milan since joining the club from Lille in 2021.
He has made 163 appearances across all competitions for the Italian giants, conceding 170 goals and keeping 59 clean sheets.
Milan endured a disappointing 2024-25 Serie A campaign, but the former Lille star still kept 13 clean sheets in 37 league appearances.
He has also been the first-choice goalkeeper for France since Hugo Lloris announced his retirement in January 2023, with 31 international caps to his name.
Chelsea have been looking to sign a dependable stopper this summer after Robert Sanchez’s struggles last season.
Sanchez kept 10 clean sheets in 32 Premier League appearances in 2024-25, but made five errors leading to goals in the English top-flight.
Enzo Maresca’s side are admirers of Maignan but they are not ready to meet Milan’s high valuation for the player.
They are looking to sign him before the Club World Cup and want an answer from the Italians before the end of the first part of the transfer window.
