Chelsea have reportedly joined Liverpool in the transfer race for South American wonderkid Deinner Ordonez.
The 15-year-old impressed with his displays in the South American Under 20 Championship in Venezuela, becoming the youngest player to play in the tournament for more than a decade.
His performances have caught the attention of Liverpool and clubs in Spain and Germany.
But Chelsea look to steal a march on them as they have held talks over a move for the Ecuadorian prodigy, per the Daily Mail.
Independiente del Valle are willing to sanction a sale but want a fee around £14 million for Ordonez.
The Argentine club are looking for a deal that is structured similarly to the one struck two years ago with Chelsea for Kendry Paez.
Paez agreed to join the English club at 16 but was only eligible to move this summer after turning 18. He has since joined Strasbourg on loan for the 2025-26 season.
Chelsea have heavily invested in signing young, high-potential talents in recent years.
They have brought in Andrey Santos, Deivid Washington and Angelo, but the highlight addition so far has been Estevao Willian, who joined from Palmeiras for an initial £29m.
Estevao has made an impressive start to the new Premier League campaign, featuring in all three matches and scoring a goal.
Enzo Maresca’s side have picked up seven points from their opening three matches and are currently sitting in second place behind Liverpool.
