CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PLAYER RATINGS | Bayern Munich 1-0 PSG

Bayern Munich made it seven wins in a row as they comfortably beat PSG 1-0 at the Allianz Arena.

A strange first half as neither team were that dangerous in front of goal for much of the first 45. Ousmane Dembele forced a save from Manuel Neuer, but that was about it until Bayern won a corner. Once the corner was played in, PSG’s goalkeeper tried to parry the ball away but completely messed up everything and the ball landed straight to Min-Jae Kim who could open the scoring. The goal woke Bayern up and they then proceeded to look a lot more dangerous going forward but were unable to double their lead.

The second half lost any momentum early on when Ousmane Dembele was sent off for a second yellow card in what was a questionable decision from the referee. From then on, apart from a well-worked Bayern move that started with Neuer venturing near the half way line and ended with Kingsley Coman missing the crossbar, there was little action to write home about.

The win against PSG shows that the changes Vincent Kompany made after the losses to Aston Villa and Barcelona have been very successful. Since the loss in Catalonia, Bayern have not conceded a goal. This has mainly been due to their less suicidal high which means Kim and Dayot Upamecano are less exposed, as well as the fact that they suck all energy out of the game with their utter domination of the ball.

Bayern’s attentions will now turn towards Borussia Dortmund at the weekend, where they will be heavy favourites to come away with the three points.
