Jake Paul has some big names on his resume who he has defeated so far, such as MMA legend Anderson Silva, heavyweight boxing icon Mike Tyson, as well as former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, who he defeated very recently. But he is yet to defeat an active boxer who is still competing at a good level.
Many people labelled Paul’s fight against Tyson last November as a farce because of the 31-year age gap, however, with the money involved in that fight, fans could at least get their heads around why there was demand for the fight.
Although Paul’s showdown with ‘Iron’ looked like it was going to be the last time ‘The Problem Child’ shared the ring with someone in their 50s, heavyweight boxing cult hero, Butterbean, has started a campaign to be one of Paul’s future opponents.

Butterbean Wants to Fight Jake Paul
The 58-year-old believes he would knock ‘The Problem Child’ out
Cult hero Eric Esch, AKA, Butterbean, is targeting a fight against Jake Paul.
During a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, Butterbean revealed he wants to fight Paul “so bad” and is motivated to defeat the social media superstar due to some disrespectful comments he made about him when he first made the move over to professional boxing back in 2020.
When Paul made his comments about Butterbean several years ago, the 58-year-old was in a bad way health-wise and had to use a wheelchair to get around. In the last few years, the former boxer has turned his life around, having lost around 300 pounds, and during his interview with Ariel Helwani, Butterbean revealed that a fight against Paul was one of his big motivations when he was in the process of getting healthy.
“I want to fight Jake so bad. When I was in my wheelchair, Jake said some nasty stuff about me.
When I started getting healthy again, I’m going, you know what, I’m going to push myself until I’m able to knock him out, and guess what, I’m here.”
Although Helwani countered Butterbean’s confidence in defeating Paul by saying ‘The Problem Child’ is packing some serious power, the 58-year-old stood his ground and claimed he would KO Paul, and it would be a great fight.
“I hit so much harder than these guys. That’s why it would be such a great fight. I’ll be honest, the Tyson fight thing I think was the biggest BS. Just because he’s an older guy doesn’t mean he couldn’t have knocked Jake out. I, myself, I would take it to him, he wouldn’t know what to think.
It would be a good fight. I think it would be a competitive fight for me but I know I can take him and he thinks he can take me, so that’s what would make it a good fight, me knowing I can knock him out and him thinking he can knock me out.”
