Burnley eye Genk’s Tolu Arokodare to bolster attack

Burnley are looking to strengthen their frontline and have set their sights on KRC Genk striker Tolu Arokodare (h/t the Telegraph).

Following their return to the Premier League, the Clarets are eager to improve their squad to stay competitive and avoid immediate relegation.

They have already bolstered their defence by signing Kyle Walker from Manchester City and are now targeting key attacking reinforcements.

The Nigerian international finished last season with 23 goals and seven assists in all competitions.

His performances earned him the Belgian Jupiler Pro League Golden Boot, and he is now being closely monitored by top-flight English clubs.

Burnley are keen on signing him, but the two clubs are currently far apart in their valuation of the player.

Genk are reportedly demanding £25 million. He has spent two and a half years with the Belgian outfit and has emerged as one of their most valuable assets.

Burnley considering other attacking options

The Clarets are also exploring the free agent market as they look to add further options without overspending on transfer fees.

Among the players being considered are Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who recently left Everton, and experienced forwards Callum Wilson and Jamie Vardy.

Burnley remain focused on Arokodare as their primary target, although they may consider alternatives if a deal becomes too difficult.

Arokodare is known for his physicality and strength, making him a classic centre-forward with a modern edge.

He can score with both feet, uses a variety of finishing styles, and is a dominant presence in aerial duels.

In addition to his scoring ability, he is capable of holding onto the ball and linking up play with his teammates.

He also possesses solid dribbling skills and can pick a pass in the final third, making him a complete threat up front.

However, there is still room for growth in his overall play, especially outside the penalty box.

Burnley will continue to monitor the situation as they aim to reinforce their squad ahead of the new Premier League season.
