Speaking in an interview with France Football published this weekend, Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka discussed an array of topics including what his relationship with pressure is like.
“The key thing is to be ready when an opportunity presents itself. If you start thinking about it the moment it starts, that is already too late. I want to be the best and I prepare for that. I like the big moments and I have different tricks to take the pressure off of me. I am not sure I should tell you what they are. They are my little secrets! I do not know how to explain it, because I have built it up over years. Depending on mealtimes and kick-off time, I always have a nap before the game. Music? Not always, but yes, because that helps me feel better. But I have other things.”
Does the Bible help, which you read?
Yes that counts a lot for me. I have several different verses in my mind, not necessarily just one, so I wouldn’t know which one to tell you that I prefer. They help me with challenges in my daily life. Reading the Bible has changed my mindset. It helps me. It is positive.
