Speaking at Borussia Dortmund’s Annual General Meeting (via Sky Germany), Director of Sport Lars Ricken has issued a challenge to Bayern Munich ahead of their game on Saturday.
Dortmund go into the game in fifth 10 points off of Bayern but they also go into the game with a 100% home record. On the challenge of facing Bayern in Der Klassiker at the weekend, Ricken said:
“We in the sporting management are sure: this will be a great game. We will win it! And we want to win it. We will do it together!”
In the past 11 meetings between Dortmund and Bayern, Dortmund has won twice. Once back in 2018 and the other last season at the Allianz Arena where they beat the Rekordmeister for the first time in Munich in over 10 years.
Beating the currently unbeaten Bayern would give die Schwarzgelben the boost that their season needs especially as they have struggled for consistency in the league.
