Karim Adeyemi’s Bundesliga debut for Borussia Dortmund was over after 23 minutes on Saturday evening. The German forward injured his foot after a duel with Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapié.
“Things are getting better again,” said Adeyemi after the game. “A train in the tendon or something in the capsule.” According to Sky Germany, Adeyemi hurt his toe but hopes to be able to train again in the next week.
As well as Adeyemi, central-defender Nico Schlotterbeck also got injured during their 1-0 win against Bayer Leverkusen. He was forced off for a brief period and headed down the tunnel, the German defender likely got his shoulder reset after being in pain following a duel.
“I’ve been looking forward to this game for so long,” said Schlotterbeck. “I’m a central-defender, so I have to be a little tougher.”
Borussia Dortmund beat Bayer Leverkusen 1-0, Marco Reus scoring the only goal of the game.
