Borussia Dortmund have begun talks with Chelsea over the signing of Carney Chukwuemeka on loan, according to Florian Plettenberg.
Dortmund are keen on signing the attacking midfielder and initial discussions are for just a loan deal until the end of the season.
An option to buy would be available but is not feasible for Borussia Dortmund, as Chelsea value the player at €35-40 million.
Chukwuemeka has made just five appearances this season under Enzo Maresca with four of these coming in the Europa Conference League in addition to one EFL Cup appearance.
The 21-year-old also missed the majority of last season due to a knee injury after making an impressive start and scoring on his first start for the club.
He has made just a total of 32 appearances since his €18 million move in the summer of 2022 and has been frozen out of most matchday squads by Enzo Maresca but is now looking for regular game time to get his career back on track and reach his promising potential.
His current contract with Chelsea runs until 2028.
