Fabrice Hawkins reports that the last remaining detail of Jamie Gittens transfer from Borussia Dortmund to Chelsea has been ironed out. The English attacker will move from the Bundesliga to the Premier League after the two clubs reached an agreement, with the 20-year-old expected to sign a seven-year contract.
Hawkins has no new news to offer up on the transfer fee, but it can be largely assumed that BVB will pocket the earlier reported upon €65m. The two sides are thought to have come to terms on the €65m figure via a complex web of performance-related bonuses.
Earlier today, Dortmund parted company with German phenom Youssoufa Moukoko for €5m. Moukoko remains the only sale the Westphalians have finalized this summer. BVB have shelled out significant money for three new additions.
The purchase of Jobe Bellingham (€30.5m), along with the permanent purchase of loanees Yan Couto (€25m) and Daniel Svensson (€5m), leave die Schwarzgelben operating on an estimated negative summer transfer balance sheet of -€57.25m.
