According to Sky Germany, Borussia Dortmund have agreed personal terms with promising Lyon star Rayan Cherki.
It is understood that a verbal agreement has been reached between BvB and the 20-year-old over a long-term, five-year contract. This would, therefore, see Cherki remain at the Westfalenstadion until 2029.
Nevertheless, before Cherki’s signing is confirmed, Dortmund still need to clarify the final details of the deal. But this is not expected to be an issue.
Die Schwarzgelben are in contact with Olympique Lyonnais regarding a suitable transfer fee. However, the Champions League runners-up are required to offload an asset before they submit a bid to the Ligue 1 side.
Regardless, there is confidence within the Dortmund camp that this will be possible and that Cherki will be signed before the end of the transfer window. Last season, Cherki featured 39 times for the French outfit, scoring three goals and registering nine assists.
