Serie A side Bologna have now opened talks with Scottish giants Celtic regarding a move for youngster Rocco Vata.
Vata has been linked with Verona over the last few months, but it seems as if Bologna could trump the Gialloblu in a move for the 18-year-old.
Gianluca di Marzio has reported that the Rossoblu have opened talks with the Hoops over a move for the young midfielder, who has impressed for the club’s youth side. Talks between the two clubs have come to life, with Celtic having given Bologna the permission to speak to the Ireland international.
Vata has already played in the club’s first-team and his debut came under current Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou, under whom the teenager played four times. He has 12 goals in 13 games in the Lowland League this season, with his current deal expiring in the summer of 2024 and Bologna may have to pay a training bonus in the deal.
