Bologna close to agreement with Marseille for Jonathan Rowe

After agreeing on personal terms with Jonathan Rowe (22), Bologna are nearing a full agreement with Olympique de Marseille for the winger, according to information from Foot Mercato

The England youth international’s time in the South of France has come to a dramatic end, only a year after he joined the club from Norwich City. Rowe and teammate Adrien Rabiot (30) were involved in a bust-up following Marseille’s opening day defeat to ten-man Stade Rennais. Rowe, who was already being touted for a move away from the club, was subsequently placed on the transfer list alongside Rabiot.

Bologna have acted quickly on this situation, although have not met the €20m that Marseille were asking for. The club have offered €19.5m plus a 10% sell-on fee, which Foot Mercato explains should be enough to secure an agreement with Marseille.

Rowe will leave Marseille having made a name for himself as a super-sub during his one full season at the club, and his last-minute goal to beat Olympique Lyonnais in the Choc des Olympiques will likely be fondly remembered for years to come.
