Manchester United recently reached an agreement with Eyupspor for the loan transfer of Tyrell Malacia.
But journalist Alex Crook claims the 26-year-old is not overly keen to join the Turkish club.
This comes as a blow for United who had hoped to offload Malacia as he is not part of Ruben Amorim’s plans in 2025-26.
The Dutchman came to Manchester from Feyenoord in 2022 for an initial £13 million fee. But he has failed to establish himself as a regular starter due to form and fitness problems, making only 47 appearances over the last three seasons.
The left-back played only three times in the Premier League last season before going on loan to PSV Eindhoven for the second half of the campaign.
Amorim made it clear he would not be part of his plans and told him to train away from the first-team group.
Malacia was a subject of interest from La Liga outfit Elche, but a deadline day transfer did not materialise.
He looked poised to join Eyupspor after United agreed terms with the Turkish club.
But the 26-year-old is not keen on the move and looks to stay put in Manchester.
Malacia’s stance is understandable given it would be a significant step down from his loan spell at PSV last season.
However, staying at Old Trafford would also not be a good option as his chances of being reintegrated into Amorim’s squad are slim.
