Alexander Blessin was a happy man this afternoon as he reflected on St.Pauli’s 2-1 comeback win over FC Augsburg.

“We’re glad to take the three points. We struggled to get going early on, especially in the first 15 minutes until they scored.

“We had no real grip on the game. We weren’t picking up our men and we made it too easy for Augsburg. We invited them to generate turnovers several times.

“After going behind we settled into the game better and were stable. In the second half we pressed the ball very well. We found space and made use of it.

“Not undeservedly, we made it 2-1. It was a good mental performance. It was fun watching the lads play,” he added.

Match-winning goal-scorer Danel Sinani also expressed his delight at the team’s performance and credited their fans.

“We proved what a good team we are today. We showed good mentality after going behind and came back with the support of our fans.

“It’s always good when you score the decider and we win. There were a lot of players in the way when I went for goal.

“If you whip the ball in, there’s always a chance someone will deflect it,” said the Luxembourg international.
