Here’s a complete 15-player squad for Matchday 3, built for under 155M, to inspire your Fantasy Bundesliga picks.

The team lines up in a 4-4-2 formation, with one substitute for each position ready to step in if a starter underperforms. This approach differs from pouring your entire budget into the starting XI, but over the first two matchdays it has already proven to be one of the most effective for both points and budget, as many cheap players have matched or even outscored some premium and mid-price options. Our most recent poll on X and BlueSky revealed that most players have around 155M to spend, making this team’s total cost right in the middle.
It blends premium names like Olise with budget-friendly options, offering strong upside. Following the official rules, no more than three players per club are included. A ★ marks the chosen star player in each outfield position (except goalkeeper), whose points will earn 1.5x the usual amount.
GOALKEEPERS
Mio Backhaus, Werder Bremen (4.2M, 7%)
After Zetterer’s departure to Frankfurt, Backhaus became Werder’s new number one. Fantasy-wise, he hasn’t performed yet, conceding 7 goals in the first two games against Frankfurt and Leverkusen and scoring an average of 69 points. That doesn’t make him an appealing pick yet, but next up is Gladbach, a team that has struggled to convert chances, which gives Backhaus plenty of opportunities for saves. Looking at Heuer Fernandes’s and Nübel’s performances against Gladbach with 200 points and 386 points, Backhaus could bring a huge upside this matchday.
Diant Ramaj, Heidenheim (5.26M, 10%)
The second cheapest starting goalkeeper is Ramaj, who will face Dortmund’s attack next week. In his first game he didn’t perform very well against Wolfsburg, but in Heidenheim’s 2-0 loss against Leipzig, Ramaj picked up 193 points, and considering that goalkeepers averaged 187 points even when conceding three goals against Dortmund, he could have another productive week.
DEFENDERS
Finn Jeltsch, VfB Stuttgart (5.01M, 1%)
The 19-year-old Stuttgart defender lost his spot as CB in the pre-season to Luca Jaquez, who played in the first game against Union but broke his nose. Jaquez has been working on his comeback, but against Gladbach, Jeltsch started and scored 199 points in Fantasy. Now against Freiburg, Jeltsch will probably start again, making him a cheap asset with high scoring potential.
Louis Oppie, St. Pauli (5.88M, 10%)
As mentioned many times already, the former Bielefeld player had a very impressive start to his first Bundesliga and Bundesliga Fantasy Manager season, scoring 240 points each game.
★ Yan Couto, Borussia Dortmund (5.97M, 3%)
With Heidenheim upcoming, Couto could have a very productive game once again. Against Heidenheim he showed his qualities on the right side, assisting the first Dortmund goal of the game. I made him the star player in defence because of his impressive point potential, which he demonstrated with 328 points last game, and his low ownership of just 3%.
Bernardo, TSG Hoffenheim (9.03, 30%)
Fantasy favourite Bernardo is playing against a weak-looking Union Berlin this weekend. He should be able to pick up a lot of points winning duels, making him one of the best mid-price options for matchday three.
Rasmus Kristensen, Eintracht Frankfurt (12.88M, 7%)
Being involved in Frankfurt’s attack and winning loads of duels, the Danish fullback scores an average of 228 points per match. Now with a weakened Leverkusen coming up, it could be the perfect time to pick up the first goal or assist of the season.
MIDFIELDERS
Jakub Kaminski, 1. FC Köln (5.96, 8%)
Köln took the maximum six points out of the first two match weeks while scoring five goals. Kaminski’s attacking involvement has already earned him 454 points, making him one of the top budget midfield picks.
Jan Thielmann, 1. FC Köln (6.07M, 1%)
Besides Kaminski, Thielmann is also a Köln midfielder to mention that has scored a lot of points already in fantasy. He gets most of his points through his involvement in Köln’s goals, and if they continue playing their current style, he should keep producing strong returns relative to his price.
Ridle Baku, RB Leipzig (8.29M, 6%)
Baku was one of the few Leipzig players against Bayern who scored well, with 140 points. In Leipzig’s second game against Heidenheim, he showed his duel-winning ability and also got an assist, earning 309 points.
Ritsu Doan, Eintracht Frankfurt (15.27M, 20%)
Being involved in all three Frankfurt goals last game, Doan is one of the players that might be a must-have. He racks up an average of 335 points, and Frankfurt’s offence seems unstoppable so far.
★ Michael Olise, FC Bayern (25.1M, 36%)
The ownership and price tag of Olise are extremely high, but anyone who doesn’t own the Frenchman is missing out on 731 points in two games, which is an unbelievable amount. Facing HSV on matchday three makes him the perfect star player in midfield.
FORWARDS
Serhou Guirassy, Borussia Dortmund (20.37, 26%)
With Heidenheim up next, Guirassy looks like a must-have Fantasy pick. His 611 points rank him among the highest-scoring forwards in the game.
★ Harry Kane, FC Bayern (24.1M, 37%)
Another essential is Harry Kane. The Englishman scored a hat-trick against Leipzig and added two assists in Bayern’s second match. Averaging 405 points this season, he is clearly the best player in the game and the obvious star-player choice.
Mikkel Kaufmann, Heidenheim (1M, 0%)
With Kane and Guirassy up front, there’s no reason to overspend on a bench forward. It’s highly unlikely a budget option outscores them, so paying an extra 4–5 million isn’t really worth it. Kaufmann played 84 minutes for Heidenheim and could see a small price rise, giving him at least some usefulness as a filler pick.
IN TOTAL: 154.38M
