According to Bild, Bayern Munich will reject Barcelona’s latest bid for Robert Lewandowski who wants to leave the club this summer.
Barcelona offered €40m plus €5m in add-ons for the 33-year-old Polish international.
However, it appears Bayern are playing hardball and standing by their statement that anything less than €50m will be rejected.
Lewandowski has refused to sign an extension at Bayern with his contract due to run out next summer.
The forward would have hoped that this would have forced his ideal move to Barcelona.
At the third time of trying, it’s uncertain whether Barca will submit a new and improved fourth offer for the player.
Due to Barca’s high debt and finical constraints, they and Lewandowski may have to put their desired moves on hold for another year at least.
Ex-Bayern president Uli Hoeneß emphasized the club’s position on Wednesday as he explained: “He has a contract and we are a constitutional state. We have decided that we will not let him go. Unless we could have found a replacement halfway.”
