Bayern Munich considered making a move to sign Marseille forward Amine Gouiri (25) in the final days of the transfer window, according to a report from Foot Mercato. The Algerian international striker was one of the names under consideration by the Bundesliga champions before they eventually signed Nicolas Jackson (24) on loan with a purchase option from Chelsea.
Despite eventually getting a move for the Senegalese international attacker over the line, Munich were almost forced to sign an alternative target. The West London club initially agreed to a deal before temporarily pausing the move after Liam Delap (21) suffered an injury during their victory against Fulham.
Gouiri wanted to stay at OM
Although Bayern never made an official approach to the Lyon academy graduate’s entourage, he would likely have rejected a potential move to the Bavarian outfit. After only joining Les Phocéens in January, Gouiri wasn’t eager to leave so soon after joining the Ligue 1 club.
