Bayern Munich today confirmed that Sadio Mané is in discussions with another club amid interest from Al-Nassr.
Although present in the stadium, Mané sat out of Bayern Munich’s 1-0 win against Kawasaki Frontale with the Senegalese forward now expected to depart the club. It brings an end to Mané’s one season at Bayern after he joined last summer from Liverpool for €32m. During his stay in Munich, Mané scored 12 and created six in 38 games across all competitions.
As reported by Florian Plettenberg, although the deal isn’t done yet, the transfer is in its final stages but the fee is likely to be less than the €32m reported. Despite originally preferring to fight for his place under Thomas Tuchel, Mané has since accepted that his future lies elsewhere and together with his management, has held several negotiations with Al-Nassr with the Saudi Arabia club pushing for the player’s signature.
It must also be noted that after his clash with teammate Leroy Sané, life at Bayern never quite went back to normal for Mané. With a sale to Al Nassr representing a respectable return for the ageing forward, it would appear that the funds earnt will be placed into a deal for England captain Harry Kane.
