Bayern Munich board member for sport Hasan Salihamidzic openly criticized Serge Gnabry following last night’s 1-1 Bundesliga draw with FC Köln.
Gnabry went to Paris to attend the Fashion Week after Bayern’s 1-1 draw with Leipzig last Friday, posting pictures from the trip on his social media profiles.
And speaking after last night’s game, which saw Gnabry come off at half-time, Salihamidzic hit out at the Bayern attacker, suggesting he was showing a lack of focus.
“That’s amateurish, that’s exactly what Bayern Munich isn’t, frolicking somewhere when you have a day off,” Salihamidzic told reporters.
“A day off is to rest so that you can step on the accelerator in the next game.
“We will talk about that on Wednesday, for sure. Of course there is a need to talk about it.”
Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann insisted he took Gnabry off for sporting reasons alone.
“I want to talk about what happens on the pitch, not off it. I thought we needed to bring in fresh blood at half-time, that’s why I subbed him off,” emphasized the Bayern boss.
“It had nothing to do with other things. It was only about what I saw on the pitch.”
