Barcelona starlet Pedro ‘Dro’ Fernández has on Sunday secured for himself a season benchmark in Spain’s top-flight.
This comes courtesy of the talented midfielder’s appearance in Barca’s La Liga meeting with Real Sociedad.
Barcelona are of course currently locked in action on the domestic front.
Aware that a victory would see them leapfrog Real Madrid to the top of the table, the Blaugrana welcomed the aforementioned Sociedad to Catalunya’s capital.
Despite the game’s importance, Hansi Flick made the call to heavily rotate his XI for the evening, introducing, amongst others, the aforementioned ‘Dro’.
And as alluded to above, in the process of taking to the pitch on Sunday, Barca’s latest breakthrough prodigy took ownership of a La Liga season record.
As per statisticians ‘Opta’:
‘At 17 years and 259 days old, Dro Fernández becomes the youngest player to play in LaLiga this season, surpassing Getafe’s Davinchi (17 years and 305 days old when he made his debut against Celta de Vigo).’
