As broken by Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona are finalising negotiations with Chelsea regarding the transfer of Marcos Alonso.
With the Marc Cucurella deal all but made official, Chelsea have started to negotiate with Barcelona to sell Alonso to the Blaugrana.
It is believed that the deal will be pushed over the line soon, as the 31-year-old has already agreed personal terms with the Spanish side a couple of months ago.
With César Azpilicueta opting to sign a two-year-deal contract extension with Chelsea yesterday rather than wait for Barcelona to make a formal offer, the Blaugrana shifted their attention to Alonso, who will be struggling for playing time with the arrival of Cucurella.
Alonso has made over 200 appearances for Chelsea and was a member of the side that won the Champions League in 2021.
Having already signed Jules Koundé and Andreas Christensen this summer, Barcelona are continuing to look for ways to strengthen their defence.
