Two of Spanish football’s leading clubs are ready to lock horns on the transfer market, in the race for the signature of Juventus star Dušan Vlahović.
That’s according to Fichajes, who point towards Barcelona and Atlético Madrid as the sides in question.
Frontman Vlahović is for his part widely expected to be on the move with a view to the 2026/27 campaign.
This comes with the Serbian’s contract terms with Juventus due to expire, and little progress having been made in talks regarding a renewal.
From January, clubs from across the continent will therefore be free to open negotiations with Vlahović and his entourage over the terms of a pre-contract.
And two such sides lying in wait with a view to as much are Barcelona and Atlético Madrid.
As per a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, amid respective searches for reinforcements at centre-forward, the La Liga heavyweights are prepared to battle it out to bring Vlahović in next summer.
The situation has given rise to mounting ‘tension’ between the boards at the Camp Nou and Metropolitano, both of whom are ‘exploring ways to get ahead of the competition’.
