La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have been given the green light to move ahead with a move for Chelsea star Renato Veiga.
That’s according to market insider Fabrizio Romano, who has on Monday provided an update on the situation.
The name of defender Veiga has of course emerged as an altogether prominent one in the headlines in Spain’s capital over recent days.
This comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that, amid an ongoing search for reinforcements at the back, Atlético Madrid had earmarked the Portuguese as the ideal profile.
Talks, in turn, were over the weekend kicked into gear with Chelsea and Veiga alike.
And if the latest word stemming from the media on Monday is anything to go by, then the latter, for his part, appears more than keen on the prospect of a move to the Metropolitano.
As per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano:
‘Understand Renato Veiga said yes to Atlético Madrid! No issues on personal terms. Atlético and Chelsea remain in direct talks for Renato Veiga, as reported over the weekend. Chelsea insist on package reaching €40m with add-ons included.’
