Serie A side Atalanta defender Isak Hien has played down his team’s Scudetto charge for this season.
Speaking in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport via TMW, Atalanta’s Isak Hien was stoic about their Serie A title shot after emerging as the early contenders for the Scudetto. The Swedish international claimed that his teammates remain focused on navigating their upcoming challenges and winning the title is a difficult thing to achieve as it is a long season. He said: “The Scudetto is not a thought even if people talk about it. But we know that football is like this and the championship is very long. And that goes for the other teams too. We are only thinking about the next match.”
La Dea are currently just a point away from league leaders Napoli in the Serie A standings while scoring the highest (31) amount of goals amongst top flight sides till now this campaign.
Hien expressed his views on facing Parma this weekend with the return of club football. He emphasised the importance of the game as Atalanta are set for a tough calendar. Hien said: “We have to pay maximum attention to this match. It will be tough, this summer in a friendly we saw that Parma is a very strong team. To get points we will have to give our all. We didn’t win before taking the field, we have to play it and play it well to avoid conceding goals.”
