AS Monaco fan breaks world record with shirt collection

An AS Monaco fan has broken a world record for the largest collection of football shirts of a single club, breaking a record previously held by a Liverpool fan, who had accumulated over 1,000 football shirts.

Julien Bouron has been a Monaco fan since 2000 and has some of his collection on display at the club’s stadium, the Stade Louis II. However, for the first time, he brought his collection togehter at Les Monégasques’ performance centre in La Turbie for a world record attempt.

A collection that began back in 2006

With 1,146 Monaco shirts laid out in the club’s distinctive Diagonale (which has featured on all of the Principality club’s shirts), Bouron’s collection beats a previous record, held by a Liverpool fan who has 1,047 shirts.

The world-record attempt was verified earlier this week. Bouron began his collection back in the 2006/07 season and now holds the world record.
