Arsenal to step up Eberechi Eze pursuit as Viktor Gyokeres’ deal nears completion

Arsenal are poised to intensify their pursuit of Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze as they close in on the signing of Viktor Gyokeres, according to The Independent.

The Gunners have spent the last couple of weeks in negotiations with Sporting CP over a deal for Gyokeres, who is now set to be officially announced in the coming days after an agreement was reached for his services.

Gyokoeres’ arrival would take Arsenal’s summer signings to six, but the Londoners are not done yet.

Arsenal have identified Eze as a vital addition to bolster their attacking options, largely due to his creative spark. The 27-year-old is capable of operating as a No. 10 or on the wings.

Eze was a standout performer for Crystal Palace during their historic 2024/25 season when they won the FA Cup. He scored a joint personal best of 14 goals across all competitions to go along with 12 assists.

Eze’s contract includes a release clause of around £68 million (€77.8 million), which Crystal Palace are adamant must be met in full before an exit can be sanctioned.

However, Arsenal are reportedly hoping to do a deal around £60m and are open to including players to facilitate the move.

While Eze has interest from elsewhere, a move to the Emirates Stadium is his priority at the moment, as Arsenal have already had positive talks with the player’s camp.

Eze started his football career at Arsenal before being released when he was thirteen. He has since developed into one of the Premier League’s most coveted players and could be rewarded with a return to North London soon.
