Arsenal and Chelsea will exchange all documents for Noni Madueke’s move to the Emirates today, with a medical scheduled soon, journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed.
The Gunners are now edging closer to their fourth signing of the summer after agreeing a package worth £52m for the England international with their London rivals.
Madueke has already agreed a five-year deal with Arsenal after being earmarked as a ‘key target’ by Mikel Arteta several weeks ago amid the North London club’s search for a new wide forward.
Madueke is currently part of Chelsea’s squad at the Club World Cup, where the Blues will face Paris Saint-Germain in the final on Sunday.
He came on as a substitute in the 2-0 semi-final win over Fluminense, making his 92nd appearance for the club since joining from PSV in 2022.
The 23-year-old forward will become the fifth Chelsea player to join Arsenal directly in the last three years, following Jorginho, Kai Havertz, Raheem Sterling and Kepa.
He is set to arrive as Arsenal’s first attacking signing of the summer, after deals for Kepa and midfield duo Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard.
Arsenal are said to be working on several moves at the moment, with Crystal Palace ace Eberechi Eze and Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres also being targeted.
Gyokeres is believed to be pushing for a move to North London, having identified Arsenal as his priority destination ahead of Manchester United.
