Anthony Gordon has emerged as a potential Arsenal target after being heavily linked with a move to Liverpool in past windows, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic.
The Gunners know all too well about the threat Gordon poses, as he played a key role in knocking them out of the Carabao Cup. The 2has been in fine form for the Magpies this season, making the left-wing berth his own at St James’ Park.
Mikel Arteta has had trouble finding a permanent choice for the left side of his attack. Constant injury issues and inconsistent form have proven problematic for the likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.
Ornstein: Arsenal ‘Like’ Newcastle’s Gordon
The Gunners are in the market for a winger
Arsenal have been eyeing Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams over the past year. But the Spaniard, who has a £49 million release clause, isn’t the only wide attacker on the North London giants’ agenda, according to Ornstein:
“Arsenal are one of multiple top clubs who like Anthony Gordon. But, again, it doesn’t mean much unless something develops and we have no indications of that yet.”

Gordon signed a new long-term deal with Newcastle last November, ending months of speculation about a potential move to Liverpool. The England international has been with the Magpies since January 2023, when he arrived from Everton in a £40 million deal
Arteta will be handed a huge transfer war chest in the summer to ensure he doesn’t deal with injury problems come next season and in the long run. GIVEMESPORT sources have learned that new sporting director Andrea Berta will have around £300 million to spend on overhauling the squad.
There’s no word on how much Gordon is priced, but GIVEMESPORT sources indicated his valuation was £100 million last summer, and the Tyneside giants deemed him “untouchable.” His captain Bruno Guimaraes won’t want to lose him as he views the Englishman as an ‘unbelievable’ talent.
