Al-Sadd SC have made an approach to former Italy head coach Luciano Spalletti, putting a two-year contract on the table. The Qatari club see him as a marquee appointment as they look to boost their profile.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, the deal is financially very lucrative, but Spalletti has not yet given an answer and is reflecting on the offer.
At 66, Spalletti is currently without a club after leaving the Azzurri. Having previously won Serie A with Napoli and enjoyed success with Roma, Zenit and Inter, he is weighing up whether to take on a challenge in Qatar or wait for another opportunity in Europe.
A move to the club would represent a drastic change in lifestyle for Spalletti and at 66, that will come across as a massive challenge for the Italian.
He has also been linked with a move to Fiorentina, but Stefano Pioli is still very much in charge.
