AJ Styles Drops Cryptic Pipebomb Promo on WWE Raw

A pipebomb may have been dropped on Monday Night Raw in Milwaukee. And no, it wasn’t from the returning AJ Lee, who made her first WWE Raw appearance in over a decade. Coincidentally, it was another iconic AJ — ‘The Phenomenal’ AJ Styles.

Styles was scheduled to wrestle El Grande Americano on Raw. The former WWE Champion was coming off a devastating loss to Dominic Mysterio last week on Raw in Paris. Styles was seeking to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship from Dirty Dom, but failed in his pursuit due to interference from El Grande Americano.

But before his match with the luchador, Styles had something to get off his chest.

As Styles waited for his opponent during the commercial break, he took the mic and appeared to be letting some steam off on how his last few months have gone recently.

“For the first time in my career, I’ve got no one watching my back. Gallows, Anderson, they’re not here. Michin, she’s on SmackDown. It’s like someone orchestrated a way for me not to win anymore, not to have help. I’ll let you make your own conclusions.”

But Styles seemed to have gone off the rails and let the Milwaukee crowd in on something that’s been brewing behind the scenes.

“By the way, we are here right now and all over the world, but to rest everybody, is it a commercial break? I’m telling you something that you’re probably not supposed to hear, but somebody doesn’t want me here. What we’re going to do is you’re going to beat the piss out of Grande Americano tonight so that the person that doesn’t want me here anymore can feel a little bit of his pain and mine also.”

That’s certainly a cryptic message from The Phenomenal One, and it appears like he’s taking a shot at someone.

The 48-year-old has been the ultimate professional over the past few years, putting younger talent over like Dominik Mysterio, LA Knight, and Logan Paul to build up their stock. But everybody has their boiling point, and it seems like Styles may be about to reach his.

How 2025 Has Gone for AJ Styles

This year hasn’t particularly gone the way of Styles, in terms of the win-loss column. After being out for six months, the two-time WWE Champion returned at the Royal Rumble. He went on to have a feud with Logan Paul and the two faced each other at WrestleMania 41. Unfortunately, the WWE legend lost to the Maverick at the Showcase of the Immortals, thanks to interference from Karrion Kross.

After his program with Paul, Styles began feuding with Dominik Mysterio. He challenged Dirty Dom at SummerSlam for the Intercontinental Championship. However, Styles was unable to capture his second IC title reign. Dominik managed to outsmart The Phenomenal One to retain his title.

Styles got another shot at the gold on last week’s episode of Raw. The night seemed prime for the wrestling legend to get his moment, with Paris crowd serenading AJ with the iconic “Il est vraiment phénomenal” football hymn. However, the WWE did not pull the trigger, as Dominik retained his championship, thanks to interference from El Grande Americano.

Nonetheless, Styles did exact revenge on the man who cost him his title match last week and picked up the win. And he also got some help in the form of Dragon Lee, who came to his aid to fend off the other El Grande Americanos who also got involved during the contest.
