According to Fabrice Hawkins, Xavi Simons (21) will not return to Paris Saint-Germain this summer as he looks for a permanent move away from the French champions.
There had been an expectation that the Dutchman would become a central part of the post-Kylian Mbappé era at PSG, with his rapid rise to prominence in the European game coming just as his loan deal at RB Leipzig was coming to its end.
It looked like the perfect timing for the club to take advantage of a talent that they already possessed on their books, however, Hawkins states that Simons is not motivated by a return to Paris.
Xavi Simons courts Premier League interest
The Dutchman would prefer to extend his stay in the Bundesliga with Leipzig, who have made their intentions clear throughout the season that they were extremely keen on extending his stay beyond the loan deal. The German club and PSG have reportedly already begun negotiations, although Premier League teams are interested in hijacking a deal.
