It is expected that Faris Moumbagna, who has found game time somewhat limited since arriving in January, will replace Iliman Ndiaye in what is a must-win game for Olympique de Marseille against Lille OSC on Friday evening.
Jean-Louis Gasset’s options remain heavily limited due to injuries throughout the squad. Jonathan Clauss, Chancel Mbemba, Bamo Meïté, Michael Murillo, Bilal Nadir, Valentin Rongier and Ismaïla Sarr all miss out, whilst players such as Samuel Gigot and Leonardo Balerdi, both of whom are expected to start, have been rushed back from injuries.
With Moumbagna starting through the middle, it is expected that Marseille’s top scorer this season, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will start on the left, with Amine Harit on the other side in a 4-3-3 formation.
Marseille likely lineup v Lille
Pau Lopez; Quentin Merlin, Leonardo Balerdi, Samuel Gigot, Ulisses Garcia; Pape Gueye, Geoffrey Kondogbia, Jordan Veretout; Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Faris Moumbagna, Amine Harit. (L’Éq)
