A headline member of Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid squad has today provided his take on the long-running debate: Kylian Mbappé, or Erling Haaland?
The topic, of course, is a relevant one in Spain’s capital at present, amid the widespread understanding that the Real brass are day by day inching closer to an agreement with the former, over the terms of a contract starting in the summer.
Mbappé, in turn, looks likely to be lining out alongside a whole host of world football’s finest – one of whom comes in the form of Aurélien Tchouaméni – at the Santiago Bernabéu starting from next season.
Speaking in a press conference whilst on international duty on Thursday, it therefore came as little surprise when the name of fellow countryman Mbappé was put to Tchouaméni.
Asked to choose between the aforementioned pair, the Frenchman, inevitably, opted to give his backing to his soon-to-be teammate in Madrid.
Whilst keen to assure that he views Manchester City frontman Haaland as ‘a great player’, Tchouaméni went on to confirm that he would take Mbappé over any other player:
“Mbappé or Haaland? I prefer Kylian over everything. Erling is a great player but I prefer Kylian.”
