After a small muscle tear in his left thigh, Raphaël Guerreiro returned to training for Bayern Munich on Thursday morning. The 30-year-old was forced to withdraw from the Portugal squad after picking up the injury in Bayern’s 5-2 win against Darmstadt in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
Although working on his comeback, Bild reported earlier in the week that Guerreiro could miss the game against his former club Borussia Dortmund in Der Klassiker on March 30. Since his free transfer from Dortmund in the summer after his contract expired, Guerreiro has played 21 games across all competitions under Thomas Tuchel this season.
Bayern Munich’s injury situation
Holding a dual nationality with Serbia, Aleksandar Pavlovic was forced to withdraw from the Germany squad after contacting tonsillitis. The 19-year-old has been excellent for Bayern this season which earned the midfield his maiden call-up. Meanwhile, Sacha Boey is also sidelined, and Manuel Neuer had to withdraw from the Germany squad after suffering a torn muscle fibre in his left adductor.
