Lazio in talks with former Marseille boss Igor Tudor

Lazio have started talks with Igor Tudor to take over as the head coach of the club.

According to a tweet by Matteo Moretto, Lazio are in talks with former Marseille manager Igor Tudor to fill the vacant spot of the head coach in the club following the resignation of Maurizio Sarri.

The Croatian manager has been out of a job since he parted ways with the Ligue 1 outfits at the end of the 2022-23 season after guaranteeing the club a place in next season’s Champions League qualification stage. He was previously linked to the Napoli managerial role following the sacking of Rudi Garcia but the move never materialised.

Tudor is expected to arrive in Rome in the next few hours to speak directly with Lazio president Claudio Lotito. The Biancocelesti are ready with an offer until the end of the season plus one other year for him.

The 45-year-old manager possesses considerable experience in the Serie A as he has managed Udinese, Juventus (as an assistant coach under Andrea Pirlo) and Hellas Verona.
